The Doha Triple Crown, a new event for Purebred Arabian racehorses, was announced last February by the Qatar International Committee.

This event includes three prestigious races: the Group 1 PA Qatar Harwood International Stakes, which takes place on the 1st of August 2015 at Goodwood, on the last day of the Festival, the Group 1 PA Qatar Arabian World Cup, which is run on the day of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on the first weekend of October and the Group 1 PA HH The Emir’s Sword, which is run at Doha at the end of February.

Prize-money for these three races is as follows:
400 000 GBP (about 563 000 Euros) at Goodwood,
1 Million Euros at Longchamp
3 Millino QAR (about 737 000 Euros) at Doha.

The icing on the cake is a bonus of 1 Million US$ for the winner of all three races.

On the 24th of June, 46 horses were entered in the Qatar Harwood International Stakes at Goodwood (download the list of entries), the first leg of the Triple Crown. Definite runners will be selected according to their IFAHR (International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing) rating, following possible supplementary entries on 22 July.
